  1. Expansion teams have, on average, not generally fared especially well in their first USCL seasons as the combination of unfamiliarness to playing long games on the internet along with general unfamiliarty with the League can often require at least a season to properly overcome.

    But if ever there was proof that trends cannot be relied on in the USCL, the Nor’easters’ 2010 season probably was the clearest example of it. Not only shattering the record for best regular season record enroute to scoring a whopping 9.5 – 0.5, New England also swept through the playoffs, shockingly convincingly winning the USCL Championship in their first season………

By virtue of gaining a forfeit win on board 3, the New England Nor”easters won the 2010 U.S. Chess League Championship on Saturday, November 20, defeating the Miami Sharks, 3-1, The Sharks, the Western Division champions, were at a disadvantage when their third-board player was unable to make it to the playing site after experiencing car trouble.
