Peter played for the World Championship against Kramnik in 2004.
He has lost little if any of his strength as he showed this round against Naiditsch. Black had a Queenside majority but some difficulty in mobilizing it. Leko, playing White, showed what a singleton passed central Pawn could do with a mastery in coordinating his heavy pieces; and actually it was the constant pressure and harmony of Queen a Rook that brought in the point. Towards the end it looked like he might be experiencing a little difficulty with his own King, but a constant eye on tactics did not allow this to become a real issue.
