Michael AdamsAdams is making a nice killing this tournament. His performance rating so far is in excess of 3000 and he makes it look easy. Today he dismantled a Caro Kann played by Khenkin. The Caro Kann is widely considered to be a very solid defense; it is however also considered to be rather passive. It is the passive nature of Black’s play that stood out in today’s game. Khenkin never really appeared to “get going” and Adams prodded and poked around the weakened Kingside until the Caro cracked. This was a very nice game.
