    Expect “Big Victories” {as Alexander Luzhin would exclaim..}
    My Picks today Nakamura , Kamsky and Hess winners..
    Finegold standing strong against a fiesty Lenderman (draw)

    Nakamura used an opening,that he played at the STL Open(Vienna)
    but with different results ….Onischuk a bit surprised by it
    played well enough not to get lost in the end game,with small chances favoring the champ ..These two will meet again in the final four. Perhaps this was a tune up for whats to come..(draw)
    After Sunday night’s Marathon Akobian played a safe opening that
    Kamsky was unable to crack.Both played well but saving their “stuff” perhaps for the final four. Both seemed content in “taking it easy”…(draw)
    The game that surprised me was Hess/Shulman ..Playing the (French /Tarrasch)with an early push like c4 on move 6 and the move ..13 Qxa2 by Black ..seemed a bit suspect but proved to be worthy after Hess scrambled around looking for a good plan… If Hess had any visions about making the final four he may had missed his opportunity..While Shulman made his own…….(0-1)
    Lenderman/Finegold (1/2) Black met 1.c4 with ..1.c6 (English Opening Bled Variation)and kept his wits about him after exposing his king side on move 29 (mid game)… and forced a draw. Finegold needs a victory if not only for psychological reasons then for financial reasons. I know one shouldnt play for the “money “..But right now at this point of the tournament ..why not?! Go for it!!
