Checkers with Royal Crowns [King Kentheon]
TEEKO {JOHN SCARNE}
Teeko is an abstract strategy game invented by John Scarne the magician and world-class gaming expert in 1937 and rereleased in refined form in 1952 and again in the 1960s. Teeko was marketed by Scarne’s company, John Scarne Games Inc.
The basic rules of “Standard Teeko” are simple. Each player has four pieces or markers of his own color. In Phase I, players alternately place one of their pieces on any board position. In Phase II, they move any one of their own pieces to an adjacent position. The object of the game is for either player to win by having his markers situated in a straight line (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal) or a square of four adjacent spaces.
Teeko surpasses checkers as a skill game .It can be played in more than 20 different ways with or with out point scoring .Teeko scope is so great that a 257-page book was written” Scarne on Teeko “~ explaining strategy of play.
Scarne watches World’s Checker Champion,Tom Wiswell, make a move in Teeko match..the others shown here are movie stars Judy Holliday,Patti McCormick and former Heavyweight Champion James J.Braddock.
Scarne once challenged 10 players including the nation’s top ranking chess,checkers, and bridge masters that he would win a Teeko match in simultaneous play,he offered $1000 for each game lost . The match took place March 14 1955 at New York ‘s 21 Club and the ten contestants whom John played simultaneously included the U.S. Open Chess Champion,Larry Evans: World’s Checker Champion Tom Wiswell ,and Contract Bridge Master,John Crawford. There was 3 rounds of play (30 games) 30-0 [Scarne] He didn’t lose one nickel…
“Scarne is to games what Dr. Einstein is to advanced pyshics”..

A backgammon game of India {Parcheesi}
Parcheesi is a brand name American adaptation of the Indian Cross and Circle game Pachisi. Created in India perhaps as early as 500 AD.
Parcheesi is played with one or two dice and the goal of the game is to move each of one’s pieces home to the center space. The most popular Parcheesi boards in America have 72 spaces around the board, twelve of which are darkened safe spaces where a piece cannot be capture.
When a double (doubles) is tossed before all four pawns have been entered, the player takes his turn as usual and gains another roll of the dice. In addition they can split the roll between two pawns.
When a double is tossed after all four pawns are entered, values on the reverse side of the dice are also used. For example, a player who rolls 6-6 can also move 1-1 in any combination. Therefore, when a double is tossed, the player has a total of fourteen spaces to move one or more pawns. If the player cannot move the entire number of spaces he cannot move any spaces, but still gets to roll again.
example double sixes:
with four men [6,6 1 and 1)
with three men(6,6 and 2) (12,1 and 1)
with two men (7 and 7) (13 and1) (8 and 6) (12 and 12)
with one man (14)
The third consecutive doublet rolled in one turn is a penalty, and no pawns are moved forward. A player with a three doublet penalty also removes his or her pawn closest to home back to their nest, and his or her turn ends. Pawns can be moved off of the home path in this case, but not off of the home square.
The player cannot split doubles in order to enter home. This means that a player can only enter home by rolling doubles if the person is exactly 14 spaces from home.
Chinese Chess
This game is not to be confused with XIANGQI {Chinese Chess}
But most definitely should be confused with Chinese Checkers..or shall we say Halma or Hoppity or Eckha …Stern-Halma..and my favorite HOP CHING Checkers ……..’According to some sources (unverified) the game is called Tiao4 Qi2′ or ‘Tiau-qi’ (Jump Chess, Jumping Chess or ‘the jumping-game’) in China.
Now matter what the name is.. Im sure we all enjoyed playing it at one time or another in our life ..

Mill is one of the oldest board games and known in Europe by different names: Nine Men Morris, Mühle, Molenspel and Merrelles.
