In his writings he suggested evaluating balanced hands  using a point count  method: Ace = 4, King = 3, Queen = 2 and Jack = 1. This became known as the Work Point Count and was later adapted by Charles Goren to value all hands. It is still used by most players. In 1927 Work was named American Bridge League (ABL) Honorary Member of the Year.

Made in 1957 by the Autobridge Company.

The play yourself bridge game… contents include: Autobridge metal playing board,  part 1 and part 2 deal books, 32 double sided deal sheets, and the instructions printed on the inside of the box top.

 The metal board which may be opened to insert a sheet with cards indices and suits printed on it. The covering board is  then closed and the hand is played by opening windows. The player decides on their own play and reveals the next window to see what the expert recommends.

Oswald (Ozzie, Jake) Jacoby (December 8, 1902 – June 27, 1984) was an American contract bridge player and author, considered one of the greatest bridge players of all time. He also excelled at, and wrote about, other games including backgammon, gin rummy, and poker..

 Jacoby was also an expert backgammon player, and in 1972 he was crowned World Backgammon Champion. In 1970, he wrote The Backgammon Book with John R. Crawford, which is considered the first book to deal with backgammon from an analytical viewpoint. The Jacoby Rule, which states that gammons and backgammons count only after the cube has been turned, is named after him.
