Remember The Speed Involved Today – Day 2.

The results were all over the place – unfortunately so was the quality of play.

Grischuk won games #9/#10.  But it is important to state that Caruana hung his queen in both of those games; rather “silly” for this “level” of play – meaning – both very elementary mistakes – the “how” becomes meaningless.

Like beginner game, these players are tired.

Dominguez won game #9.  It was a flat draw with both players playing “beat the clock”.

It shows why increment is necessary.

They both broke rules.
Wesley stood up, Dominguez moved two-handed.
Both flags fell. Dominguez has to claim the win
before his own clock runs down. Draw is the
only logical result.

Replay the game.

Pieces were between squares.

Forfeit both players.

Nakamura won game #10.

Mistakes cropping up in all games as players get tired.

The great part of today’s play is that Derrick Bartotto provided us with some beautiful images (below).
